Find step-by-step instructions by issue type. Topics include registration, subscription imports, client connections, app split tunneling, route selection, plan billing and refund requests.
Account & Subscriptions
Registration, subscription information security, device changes and account access.
Do I need an email address to register for 5TVPN?
No email address is required. Register with a username and password. Your username will be used to sign in later, so choose a memorable combination that you do not reuse for other important accounts, and store your password securely. After registration, open the user panel to view plans, get client apps and manage your subscription.
Where can I find my subscription link after purchase?
Sign in to the user panel and open Account Overview or the client download area. Follow the on-screen instructions to retrieve the subscription information for your account. A subscription link is an account credential: import it directly into a supported client, and never post it in group chats, forums, screenshots or public documents.
How should I update my subscription link?
First find the current subscription in your client, then use its update or refresh function to fetch the route list again. If the client says the link is invalid, return to the user panel, copy the current subscription information again and import it. Do not manually edit any characters in the link or combine subscriptions from different accounts in one configuration item.
Do I need to purchase again after changing devices?
No separate purchase is needed when you change devices. 5TVPN supports unlimited devices. The subscription linked to the same account can be used on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux. On a new device, get the client and subscription information from the user panel. When an old device is no longer in use, you can delete its saved configuration.
What should I do if I forget my username or password?
Check your browser's saved sign-in details or password manager first, and make sure there are no extra spaces in your input. If you still cannot sign in, explain the issue through the ticket portal in the user panel and include account and order details that can help verify your subscription. Never submit your password or complete subscription link on a public page.
Connections & Issues
Work through the local network, client permissions, proxy mode and subscription status one by one.
What should I check first if the client cannot connect at all?
First confirm that your local network can open websites normally. Then update the subscription and switch to another available route. Check whether the client has system network permission, whether the system clock is accurate and whether an older proxy tool is still running. After checking, quit and reopen the client, then see whether the error message has changed.
What should I do if it says connected but websites will not open?
Disconnect first and confirm that your direct connection can access ordinary websites. Reconnect and switch routes. If only the browser is affected, disable its separate proxy settings or conflicting extensions. If no apps can access the internet, check the client's system proxy mode, network permissions and DNS settings, then establish the connection again.
Why is a particular App not using the proxy?
A common cause is that the client is using rule-based split tunneling and the app's requests do not match a proxy rule. Temporarily switch the client to Global mode to test. If Global mode works, return to the split-tunneling settings and check app rules, domain rules and system proxy permissions. Some apps must be fully closed and reopened before they use the new network path.
What should I do if the connection drops when a mobile app goes into the background?
Check whether the system restricts the client from running in the background and make sure network permissions remain enabled. Battery-saving policies may pause background connections, so allow the client to run in the background. After switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, reconnect in the client if the original connection does not return, then use a webpage to confirm that the exit route has changed.
What should I do if a subscription update fails or the route list is empty?
Confirm that you copied the complete subscription information currently shown in the user panel, with no leading or trailing spaces or missing characters. Check that the subscription is still valid, then try deleting the failed old configuration in the client and importing it again. If the issue continues, include the client platform, error message and steps to reproduce when submitting a ticket. Do not attach the complete subscription link.
Speed & Routes
Choose routes based on the target region and real-world access performance, not on a single test result.
How should I choose a route for everyday use?
Prioritize routes that match the destination service's region and provide a stable connection, rather than judging by geographic distance alone. For content tied to a specific region, choose the corresponding exit region. For general browsing and work, start by testing routes in nearby regions. If the current route becomes unstable, switching to another route in the same region is usually easier for isolating the issue than repeatedly changing client settings.
How should I troubleshoot slowdowns during peak hours?
Compare your direct connection at the same time first to see whether it is also slow, then switch to another route in the same region to distinguish local congestion from route instability. While streaming, pause bandwidth-heavy tasks such as downloads and cloud syncing, and close duplicate proxy clients. If only one route is slow, keep a working route and report the route name and time of occurrence through a ticket.
Why does route latency keep changing?
Latency is affected by the local access network, cross-border links, exit region and the response speed of the destination service, so results may differ across times and apps. The latency shown by the client is useful for initial screening but cannot replace a real access test. When choosing a route, also check connection stability, webpage response times and playback performance in the target app.
Should I switch routes when video quality drops?
Try switching to another route in the same exit region, then reopen the video and test again. Automatic quality reduction can also result from local network fluctuations, background downloads or the platform's adaptive strategy. Keep the exit region unchanged and switch only the route while troubleshooting; this makes it easier to determine whether the issue comes from the route or the streaming platform. Restore your original split-tunneling settings once the connection is stable.
What regions does 5TVPN cover?
5TVPN offers 120+ countries / 230+ routes. Choose an exit region based on the needs of the target website or app, then update the subscription in your client to view the currently available list. Routes may change due to maintenance and traffic management, so rely on the list shown after the latest update in the user panel and client.
Billing & Refunds
Information on monthly subscriptions, data packages, plan upgrades, payment methods and refund requests.
What monthly subscription prices and data tiers are available?
Monthly subscriptions are: ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Choose a tier based on your typical browsing, video and large-file transfer needs. Monthly data resets each month on the activation date. Check your current plan and remaining data in the user panel before use.
What data packages are available, and do they expire?
Data packages are: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB. Data remains available until it is used and never expires, making these packages suitable for irregular usage or anyone who does not want a monthly reset. Choose according to your actual consumption; there is no need to convert a data package into a monthly subscription.
When does monthly subscription data reset?
Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date rather than being cleared on the first day of the calendar month. You can view your plan status and data usage in the user panel. If the reset date is approaching, do not repeatedly re-import the subscription to try to refresh the data: updating a subscription only syncs configuration and does not change the plan's reset rules.
How are mid-cycle plan upgrades handled?
The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is converted into remaining days. Before upgrading, check your current plan, target tier and the result shown in the user panel, then confirm the change. You do not need to edit the subscription configuration manually; update the subscription after the plan changes to sync the current information.
Which payment methods are supported?
Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are supported. Choose a plan in the user panel and complete payment using the methods shown on the checkout page. After payment, return to the panel to verify the order and plan status. Do not submit the same order again. If the status has not synchronized, keep the order information and report it through a ticket.
How do I request a refund?
5TVPN offers 14-day no-questions-asked refunds. To request one, sign in to the user panel and submit a refund request through the ticket portal, including the relevant order details and what needs to be handled. Keep the order status and ticket record after submitting. Do not publicly share your account password, payment credentials or complete subscription link.
